Famous Greek Conductor Eleftherios Kalkanis triumphed in Albania in the concerts "Bridges of Musical Tradition"

15 and 16 March 2018. Two wonderful concerts "Bridges of Musical Tradition" gave in Albania the Official Maestro of the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra Eleftherios Kalkanis, in the cities of Tirana and Avlona, which created a great sense of public interest and great cultural interest.

At those special concerts with Traditional and Classical Music of Greece and Albania, the lovers of high quality music enjoyed some of the most famous pieces of Albanian and Greek music.
The "Bridges of Musical Tradition" presented to the audience a diversified musical program which included pieces composed of great names of Greek composers such as M. Theodorakis, M. Hadjidakis, V. Papathanasiou, E. Kalkanis and others along with Albanian composers such as P. Jakova, R. Mulliqi and many others.

The works of all Greek compositions were orchestrated by the great conductor and composer Eleftherios Kalkanis in an orchestral spirit of consistency. Also Mr. Eleftherios Kalkanis had the Musical and Artistic Direction of the concerts program.

The concerts featured two well-known names of the Greek and Albanian opera, the renowned mezzo-soprano Vikena Kamenica, who, with her astonishing vocal range, interpreted the very demanding repertoire of the concert, and fine tenor Stavros Salabasopoulos, who performed graciously in Greek and Albanian respectively.

The Orchestra of the Albanian National Opera "TKOB Orchestra" was impeccably performed the Albanian and Greek repertoire under the majestic direction of  Maestro Eleftherios Kalkanis.
The first concert took place on March 15th at the Coltural Center of the Greek Orthodox Church under the Cathedral of the Resurrection in Tirana. The second concert was also held on 16th of March at the wonderful theater "Teatri Petro Marko" in Avlona.

This high-level artistic event, "Bridges of Musical Tradition", in collaboration with Greek Embassy in Tirana, aims to further deepen the cultural cooperation of the two countries.
The Ambassador of Greece, Eleni Sourani, and the director of the International Lyric Theater in Tirana, Zana Cela, gave special greetings at the concert, which was attended by many officials, including Archbishop Anastasios, MPs and others.

The halls were full in both concerts and the audience applauded enthusiastically the orchestra musicians the soloists and the conductor.
The "Bridges of Musical Tradition" concert was organized in the context of the National Day of Greece, March 25th.
