Maestro and composer Panagiotis Carousos at Catholic Cathedral Basilica of St. Dionysius the Areopagite

 

The Committee of Italians Abroad (Comites Greece), organized a concert of sacred music at the Catholic Cathedral of Agios Dionysios Areopagitou.

The choir “Rapsodi” by the maestro and composer Panagiotis Carousos was performed. The choir was composed of seven soloists of the opera: Rea Voudouri, Irini Konsta, Melania Petrillo, Yiannis Kotzias, Nina Giatra, Yiannis Darreios, Argyris Kontonikolaou, who performed extracts from the speakers: Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater”, George Friedrich Handel’s “Messiah”, Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and the work “Light of Christianity” by composer Panagiotis Carousos.
He accompanied with piano, choir and solo singers, the great pianist Christiana Manou.
The temple space was overcrowded with people.. There were also people standing who stayed to listen to the concert.
The audience enthusiastically applauded all the artists, who enchanted the audience with their performances. In the end, the audience stood up to applaud the artists and pianist Christiana Manou incessantly, so the choir “Rapsodi” returned to the stage and performed another work.
The concert was introduced by the President of the Committee of Italians Abroad, Costantino Salis, award-winning Italian-Greek writer. In the end, they were handed over by the President of the Greek Committee, Costantino Salis, and Vice President Dr. Giovanni Termine, honors to all artists, and to the maestro and composer Panagiotis Carousos, presenter of the cultural event, and artistic director of the concert.
The organization of the very successful event was handled impeccably by the Greek Comites for the Italian community.
The concert was recorded by a TV channel, and it will be possible to watch it in about 10 days on the YouTube channel: Comites Greece. It will also be streamed abroad.
